Our Mission

Jewish Family Services of Greater Orlando (JFS Orlando) provides services to stabilize individuals and families in crisis, and enhances the quality of life across generations to all members of the Central Florida community.

JFS Orlando was founded in 1978 as a human services organization based on the principles of community building, kindness, compassion, and concern for the betterment of our world. Our efforts are able to reach thousands of people each year thanks to vital community partners and their financial and in kind contributions, program development, and program delivery, as well as dedicated volunteers and their time and service.

Our Programs and Services

We aim to move lives from crisis to stability by taking a holistic approach in assisting those in need and providing a variety of wrap-around services. Our programs cover four core areas: Hunger, Mental and Emotional Stability, Homelessness Prevention, and Aging/End of Life. Visit our “What We Do” page for a complete list of our services.

40th Anniversary

In 2018, JFS Orlando is celebrating 40 years of serving the community. Since 1978, the Pearlman Emergency Food Pantry has provided food for more than 1.6 million meals to hungry families in Central Florida. We have supported families in crisis with more than $2 million in financial assistance, helping them with rent, mortgage, utility, and other emergency responsibilities. And our counselors have provided more than 50,000 hours of counseling sessions to individuals, couples, families, and groups.

Thank you to all our donors, volunteers, and community partners. We simply couldn’t have done it without you!
