Pantry To Plate Chefs’ Challenge A Success!
Pantry to Plate Chefs’ Challenge is one of Orlando’s most unique foodie events of the year. On September 18, over 200 people attended JFS Orlando’s annual fundraiser at the Winter Park Civic Center. This event featured three fantastic local chefs and challenged them to prepare a gourmet recipe by using ingredients inspired by JFS Orlando’s Pearlman Emergency Food Pantry. The three participating chefs included, Francesco Aiello, of Francesco’s Ristorante, Mark Baize of Roy’s Restaurant and Julie Casey of Outpost Neighborhood Kitchen.
The event’s fantastic hosts, Maxine Earhart from Maxine’s on Shine and Central Florida News 13’s Allison Walker Torres were back again to entertain all the guests. Judges include the winner of last year’s Pantry To Plate Chefs’ Challenge People’s Choice Award Isabella Morgia Di Vicari, co-owner of The Meatball Stoppe, Lauren Delgado, the food reporter for the Orlando Sentinel and the Director of Food and Beverage for Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa, Peter Vossenberg.
In addition to the delectable meals, the event featured unique silent auction items with all proceeds going to support the mission of JFS Orlando to provide vital, high-quality and innovative services to people in need, of all faiths.
Once dinner was complete, the attendees gave the People’s Choice Award to Chef Julie Casey for her balsamic chicken and hash dish, while Chef Francesco Aiello was given the Judge’s Choice Award.To see more and view the recipes visit www.pantrytoplatechallenge.org.
