Jill Schaffer, LMHC has worked with children, adolescents and parents for more than 25 years in a variety of settings. With a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education and license in Mental Health Counseling, she specializes in issues related to children, adolescents and parenting. Jill has a strong background in prevention programs for youth including drug and alcohol, violence, dropout  and depression prevention. Working in elementary, middle and high schools with students and faculty to provide psycho-education and early intervention services for at-risk youth, she has knowledge and experience with evidence based strategies for school based programs. As a KidsKonnect facilitator for four years, she experienced firsthand the value of this unique program in Central Florida public schools. Jill has 13 years of experience facilitating social skills groups in a private practice setting with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum, ADHD, anxiety disorders and other issues which complicate social interactions. She is also a therapist in a developmental, behavioral pediatrician’s office as well as in private practice.

Jill utilizes her education and experience as the KidsKonnect Program Coordinator to train master’s level facilitators and reach out to the community with the important message of prevention for children from families with disruption. Jill’s strengths of communication, flexible problem solving skills, and her deep concern for the at-risk youth in our community, enable her to work effectively with schools to offer the KidsKonnect program. Please contact her with questions about how to get the KidsKonnect program provided at your school.
